OSM Open Sound & Movement
OSM is a forum for interdisciplinary exchange between sound and movement. Founded by violinist Biliana Voutchkova and choreographer Louise Wagner it is a platform for continuous collaboration grounded in similarities of artistic approach, connected with understanding of contemporary music/performing arts gained through education and long experience in the field, and also in the wish to discover new mean of expression and develop new performative practices. Musicians and performers gather together at regular intervals to investigate the possibilities of the interplay between sound/movement and to extend it. We are inspired by our natural unpretentious body/mind functions, the spontaneous respond to the momentum and the ability to manipulate it. Through experiencing together in various settings - rehearsing in different surroundings, brain storming, improvising, experimenting and exchanging ideas we are also conducting our research, constantly bringing new elements of importance into it. Our aim is to incorporate this research into a performance where the boundary line between movers and musicians is diminished and even not existing anymore. OSM started regular monthly series in February 2012 with their year long residency at RADIALSYSTEM V, and moved to Uferstudios/ Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz for 2013. |
